Flute Lessons for All Levels

With professional training in Europe and Canada and an active performing career in Toronto, I bring both artistry and real-world experience to my teaching. I work with students from beginner to advanced levels, tailoring each lesson to individual goals and learning styles.

For beginners and adult learners, lessons focus on developing a solid foundation in tone, breathing, and musical expression—making learning the flute both enjoyable and fulfilling.

For intermediate and advanced students, I draw on the renowned French flute tradition (Marcel Moyse, Paul Taffanel, Philippe Gaubert), incorporating proven methods and tone development exercises that shaped my own playing. We work on tone colour, flexibility, phrasing, and interpretation—refining both technique and artistry to bring music to life on stage.

Each student’s path is personalized to help them grow with confidence, creativity, and expression, building skills that support a lifelong love of music.

Teaching Philosophy

While Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) exam preparation is an important part of my teaching, my approach goes far beyond it. I guide students through flute and theory exams while nurturing their musical expression, creativity, and understanding of style and history. Solid technique is just the beginning—through expressive phrasing, tone control, and musical awareness, students learn to play with both confidence and artistry.

For younger students, I make lessons engaging and inspiring, helping them build discipline, focus, and problem-solving skills in a supportive environment. My goal is to develop well-rounded, expressive musicians who not only achieve excellent RCM exam results but also truly enjoy the process of making music.

I offer personalized, high-level flute instruction for students and families who value excellence, dedication, and artistic growth.

Student Accomplishments

My students have consistently achieved outstanding results, maintaining a 100% passing rate and an average exam score of 87 or higher. In 2025, one of my top students received the Regional Gold Medal from The Royal Conservatory of Music, recognizing the highest mark in their grade across Ontario.

Many of my students have also won local competitions, earned top music GPAs in high school, and gained admission to leading universities across Canada. Each year, several are selected to perform with distinguished youth ensembles such as the Toronto Youth Wind Orchestra (TYWO), reflecting their dedication and musical growth.
